Hyun-Ok Park is a painter who has been working with the theme of nature over 20 years. In other words, she is a veteran artist in the naturalism field. However, what makes her different from the others is deliberative forms that can be found in her paintings. Of course, she paints roses as well as many other flowers using oil painting, and motif is derived from the target itself. Works that are painted with Japanese stone powder are no exception. The all of Book-Ak, In-Wang, Nam Mountain eventually become motif for her painting scenery. However, the reason why her paintings are unique is that she does not emulate or repeat them on canvas. You can still see the figures but by putting her ideas and consciousness for nature, the targets are recreated into deliberative symbols.

Full vitality, liveliness, and leisurely but tender lyric are one of remarkable distinctiveness of Hyun-Ok Park’s composition. Within her paintings, it is hard to find inertia or banality which naturalism can easily fall into. Fresh, clear, and warm feelings are deeply imbued into the canvas. I truly believe that is the biggest reason why her paintings are favoured all over the world.

She wrestles with her paintings all day in her atelier, so the workload is massive. That becomes the power source for Hyun-Ok Park’s creation.

Graduated from Ewha Womans University College of Art & Design, she had 18 solo exhibitions in New York, Paris, Sydney, Karslruhe, Seoul and so on.

Received ‘Korean Artist Award’ in 2010, Hyun-Ok Park participated in ‘Art Chicago’, ‘Art Karlsruhe’, ‘LA Art show’, ‘Köln 21’, Art Monaco’, ‘Hong Kong Affordable Art’, ‘KIAF’, ‘SOAF’, ‘KCAF’, ‘Busan Art fair’ and so on in many countries such as US, China, Australia, Germany, France, and South Korea.
